Fall is in the air

I'm ready to pull out my fall decorations .... anyone else?
It's just now started to cool down here in the Pacific Northwest.
You know how I know that .... well, I'm wearing my slippers again :)

I've felt the desire to create something new to add to my Fall Decor.
I had fun making this cute banner with the "Silly Pumpkins" file from Little Scraps of Heaven.

I swear every time my three year old looks at it he giggles .... makes it soooo worth it :)

Here are some close ups of those silly guys:

Here's a link to the "Silly Pumpkins" file available now at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

Fall Greetings

Well, it's that time of year when the weather gets crisp, we pull out the jeans and sweaters (and socks!) and prepare for pumpkin carving, corn mazes and apple eating :)

Here in Seattle the morning and evenings are crisp, but we are having some really fantastic sunny, warm days!  I am loving every second of it!

To kick off the Season I made a fun card for the latest Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Design Team challenge.  This week it the challenge it to use something old.  You can get all the details on the challenge HERE.

I admit it ... I really struggled with this ... you know how we crafters are ... we have LOADS of stuff (Me included) in our stash.  I made the effort .. I flipped through my old papers, looked through old old stickers and embellishments ... but I just COULD NOT get inspired :(   I hate to do projects just to do them.  I need an inspiration to motivate me .... then it hit me .... MY something old could be one of the OLDEST patterns sets that I had that was made by LSHD!

SO .... here it its .... It's a simple crow.  SO cute .. but simple.  I chose to take this little guy and turn him into a fun fall card.

As I searched and searched I could not find this poor little crow on the website ... so it must be really old!  My file was dated August of 2009.

Here is a cute pic of what the file looked like

And here is how I jazzed this crow up for our weekly challenge:

For this card I used:
- Past freebie Crow from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs (sorry, the design is no longer available for sale)
- Really old glitter ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you'll join in on our challenge this week!

Back to school

Well, this is a truly emotional year for me.
My oldest son is starting Kindergarten and my youngest son is starting Preschool.
I thought I'd be jumping for joy, but turns out I'm pretty emotional about the whole thing.

It's not like I'm going to get the 'me' time I thought .. and I'll be bored.  Turns out that on the days that Preschool inter-laps with Kindergarten I'll pretty much be back and forth in the car with maybe an hour an a half to myself ... just think grocery shopping and small errands by myself. :)

In anticipation of school starting later this week I've created a banner to celebrate that first day.  My plan is to have my kids stand with the border holding the sign that states what grade they are starting.  I used "First day of School" so I could use this banner every year and just make a new sign for them to hold.

I hope you enjoy my project for today.

To create the banner I've used the following paper piecing pattern files from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs:

I've also used:
Trendy Twine in chocolate truffle
Misc. Ribbons from Michaels
American Crafts solid papers
Pearl accents from Want 2 Scrap

Thanks for stopping by today!
