Fairy day 2 day blog hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the  blog hop for FAIRY Day on this the 24th and 25th day of June 2011. This is a 2 day hop for 24th and 25th where the line up on both days is different

If you are taking part in the hop then you have started at the right place if you have just come across this posting while browsing around in blog land then feel free to hop along.

If you've arrived from Valerie's blog, you are in the right place.  If not, please start at the beginning at Gill's blog and you will be here in no time.

The theme of this hop as ive mentioned is FAIRY Day so what we are doing on this hop is bringing together a select few people from all over the world to take part and for them to create a project with a fairy or fairies on it.

This is a hop with a difference as along the hop there  are  letters to find in the postings - not all blogs have the letters but if you gather all the letters then at the end of the hop on day 2 assemble them to create a fairy related  word. If you then return to Gill's blog and enter the Mr Linky at the bottom of the post (do not reveal the secret  word yet). After the hop she will contact someone at random and ask them to email me with the word - if correct they win some lovely candy.

Now on to my projects  - i have created 2 projects for this hop.
The first is .....  a fairy bear journal

I used the Little Scraps of Heaven pattern HERE for the journal.

My second project is ... a one page 12x12 scrapbook layout.
The title is "With Wings all is Possible".
I used two files from Little Scraps of Heave Designs, (1) Fairy Bears, and (2) The wedding collection.  I combined them both to make these cute little girl fairies.

The 12x12 layout features a spot for one picture and an additional pull out tag that could be used for journaling or an additional picture.  I used a die from Paper Trey Ink (doily die) and paper from DCWV.

So there we have it – my entries for day one of the  Fairy Day hosted blog hop – hope you like them and will  return again tomorrow for some more fairyness!!

I'd appreciate it if you could leave me a comment. If you do like what you see and wanna see more then id love it if you would become one of my ever growing list of followers.

Now back to the hop - remember to collect all the letters from the hop (they will appear over the 2 days) and assemble to form a fairy related word then return to my blog at the end of the 2 day hop and enter the Mr linky (not revealing the word) for your chance to win candy back at Gill's blog.

This is your last stop on Day one of the Blog hop, I sure do hope that you have enjoyed it!

Good luck everyone and thank you for hopping or should i say Flying along - dont forget to come back tomorrow for day 2 and to gather the rest of the hidden letters.  Please start at Gill's blog for Day 2 as I will not be a participant in Day 2.

Baby Dennis Scrapbook page donation

The Little Scraps of Heaven Design team has pulled together to create some scrapbooking layouts for a family in need.

Baby Dennis is nine months old, in the Boston hospital praying for a new heart.  It is a heartbreaking story and I can only hope and pray that the family gets all the help, love and support that they need at this time.

I have created an 8x8 layout to send to the family.  If by chance you can offer your help, you can click the link HERE to be taken to the FaceBook page event to explain the details.

Here is the layout that I have created for the family.  I truly hope that they enjoy it.

For the layout I have used the following items:
3. Papers from Papertrey ink, Pacific Vineyard

Thanks for stopping by!

Altered journal

I stumbled upon a VERY ugly $1.00 journal at Target the other day...  I mean it was REALLY ugly!  It just seemed like if a little girl was gonna be shopping in the dollar bin at a store, it should at least be for something cute!

I took the ugly journal home..... added cute paper ... ribbon ... flowers ... gems ... and a paper piecing  ... and this is what you get ...

Now THIS is something for a little girl to cherish and enjoy!

For this project I used paper from the SEI chocolat line and a Bear in Butterfly costume paper piecing from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

Shrinky Dinks

REMEMBER THESE?
They were a magical part of my childhood.  I have memories of hanging out with the babysitter and coloring shrinky dinks all night long ... all in anticipation of putting them in the oven just to watch them shrivel up.  It was fun.   I loved to color .... well, to be honest I still do.

A few years ago I purchased a bunch of Shrinky Dink products, and today I REMEMBERED that I had them!  HA HA!   I put them to use, and I'll tell ya, I can tell that I'm gonna need more of these sheets of plastic soon.

For those who do not know what a shrinky dink is ... read here ...

For today's project over at Little Scraps of Heaven, I decided to use one of the finished PNG files to print on a shrinky dink piece of paper and make into a unique one of a kind charm.   I used the paper special for ink jet printers HERE.   The instructions that came with the paper are so easy, and they even give you suggestions of sizes in which to print your pictures out (since you obviously have to print them MUCH larger than what they turn out to be).

I created this page border that will fit a 12x12 page.
I used the new patterned titled "Just Plane Cute".
I used one of the finished PNG files for the charm.
I also used the Cricut cartridge "Boys will be Boys" to cut out the Plane-shaped tag.

I really like how this came together and you can be sure that you will be seeing more charms like this from me in the future :)

Built by girls layout

Last week I was asked to make a layout similar to my recently posted "Build Boy Tough" but to re-make it into a "Built By Girls" layout.

I was so happy to take on this challenge.  I always wanted to play around with Tricia's patterns (over at Little Scraps of Heaven) and mix them up.  This gave me exactly that opportunity!

I used the following mix of patterns:
1. Alice from Alice and Wonderland set for the Mom's brunette hair
2. Lazy River Girl from Wet and Wild pattern set for the twin blonde girls hair.
3. Title, accessories and clothes from the Built Boy Tough pattern set.

Here is what I came up with .
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Welcome to June!

Welcome to June.  Where the weather is warmer, and the days are longer ... well, at least the weather is warmer somewhere ... just not here.   Here in the Pacific Northwest it is still cool and damp (oh so damp).  I swear it has to get warmer one of these days.  My kids are desperate to play in the water, to go to the park, to do anything besides stay at home.  School is over, so it has to get better!

For me, the cool wet weather has opened some free time to scrap.  Here are some layouts that I have been working on lately.

Don't forget if you're ever interested in my items, just click on the ebay link to the right to see what is available right now.
