Dawn ~ YOU ARE HERE!

For this hop I REALLY wanted to challenge myself.  Get out of my comfort zone.  Well .. Lesley is kinda to blame for this as she asked us all to create a 3D object.  Well .. wowza .. that IS out of my comfort zone!

I knew all along what I WANTED to make .. however I wasn't sure HOW I was gonna do it.   Well, one evening ... one LATE evening .. I stumbled upon a talented lady's blog.  Her name is Ilda Dias and she has some amazing projects that she shares with the world!  Anyhow ... Ilda posted THIS project on her blog and I was TOTALLY inspired.  I knew I had to make this.  I contacted her and she graciously provided me with the file that she used to create this awesome gem of a project!  Thanks so much Ilda!

Here is the direct link to her blog ... http://www.ilovedoingallthingscrafty.com/
Be sure to check her out and send her some love!

Here is my version of Ilda's hot air balloon.
The 'basket' is a box to store your Valentine's Day treats.
I've also incorporated a pull out tag to serve as a card.

Here is the box put together

You can see in this picture that the tag pulls out of the box to allow for a fun Valentine's Day greeting for a friend or a loved one.

Here is a close up of the box.

And a close up of the Balloon

Last but not least, a close up of the pull out tag.

Trendy Twine January Challenge - Show us your mittens!

Happy January!
This month Trendy Twine is featuring a new color ...  Watermelon Taffy.

Watermelon Taffy is a new pink twisted with lime green that was introduced
in the Halloween line.  This month Trendy Twine also has a  Watermelon Taffy Mini Pack
available that has coordinating colors.

The Trendy Twine  challenge for this month is:
 Show Us Your Mittens

Your project (of any form) must include:
Mittens
Buttons
Snowflake
Color pink
Trendy Twine

I hope that you will consider joining us for this month's challenge!  NO EXCUSES .. there is plenty of time to link your projects up.  Just head HERE when you are done to post/link your projects.

Now, here is the project that I've created for the challenge.

Now .. I have to admit that pink is NOT my thing.  Probably because I have two boys and I simply can not ever see them lovin' the color pink :)  That being said .. I really fell in love with the Watermelon Taffy twine.  It's so bright and cheerful... makes you smile!

I've created a one page layout that will hold one picture in the circle mat in the center of the page.

This was one of those ideas that evolved over time for me.  My initial thought when I read the requirements for the challenge was along the lines of "The three little kittens that lost their mittens".  This theme started out as a tag... then turned into an ornament .. which then ended up on a one page layout ... go figure.  I really do like the brightness to this and hope that you do too!

 Here is the full layout
