Angels Among Us

I have a new layout to share with you today.

I think this would be great for newborn pictures, children pictures, or even to capture a memory of a loved one.

I used the "Angels Among Us" paper piecing patterns from Little Scraps of Heaven to complete this layout.

A mini album challenge

Wow, It's already time for a new challenge over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.
This week was a REAL challenge for me.  I'm a scrapbooker, a layout maker, and I make the occassional stand alone paper piecing set.  But albums .. nope .. not me ... not ever.

Well .. let's just say that this challenge may have changed things a bit for me.

Where do you go when you need Inspiration?  Well me, I go to pinterest.  I love pinterest!  Do you pinterest?  If you don't you should .. you really ARE missing out.  I searched on mini albums, and boy oh boy did I find the mini albums!  I came across THIS one almost instantly and knew at that moment this would be the first album I would tackle.

I followed her tutorial step by step.  Of course choosing my own colors, coordinating ribbons and patterns from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs ... and came up with this Ca - UTE album.  I tell you .. I am hooked.   What do you think?  I'd love to hear if you'd like to see more of these :)

This is a mini album made of 5 envelopes and some cardstock.

The album itself measures about 5 inches x 4 inches.
I think it would be perfect to jot notes in and add some fun pictures too.

Making this project actually took me back in time to a college memory where me and a few friends, out of the blue, jumped in a little Eagle Talon and traveled across several states just for fun.  Oh how fun it would have been to capture some pictures and memories into this book :)

Well, I hope that you've enjoyed my album and that you'll consider joining us on the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Design team on this challenge.  DO NOT be intimidated .. do some searches on mini album tutorials and I am sure that you will find something to tackle.  I am more than certain you'll be happy with your results !

You'll find all the details on the challenge HERE

Pretty in Pink

If you know me, you probably haven't seen much pink around my blog.   I never really was a 'girly girl' ... Pink was not my favorite when I was little .. I always seemed to choose blue over pink..... and now  .. Now that I have two little boys, well let's just say there is not a spec of pink to be had in this house.

Well, This week I played with Pink.  I have a lot of cute girly papers ... well, I have a lot of cute 'everything' paper ... what scrapper doesn't have a room full of paper, right?  Well I picked up this cute EK success line fairly recently thinking I would pair it with grays for a Valentines theme.  Something other than the black and white.  But when I started pulling things together I had remembered how badly (at one time) I wanted to work with the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Tea Party Dress Up collection set.

I really had fun with it.  And as you can see there is A LOT of Pink ;)

Here is a view of the full layout

Below are a few close up of some details

For the next picture (the invitation) I used the PNG file from the "My Cup Runneth Over" collection, manipulated the colors in my Photoshop essentials program, and came up with this cute invitation.

Here is a pull out tag tucked in.

This is what that pull out tag looks like if you pull it from it's pocket

Both mats unfold to reveal places for 5 separate pictures or journaling entries.

This cute teapot charm was a last minute add.  I came across it at the craft store today and felt is simply HAD to be added to this cute layout.
