It's Easter Week!

Here is my second project for the week.  I'm dedicating this week to Easter!  Before we know it, it will have come and gone, so I say ... let's ENJOY IT!

I created this card for the Little Scraps of Heaven Design team.

For this card, I used one paper piecing from the "Easter Quackers Collection"

an EGGS-tra BIG MESS

I've been thinking about Easter lately.  It's a time for Spring, a time for cleaning, a time for renewal .. and a time for fun!   Today, my layout for my Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Design team contribution is all about the fun.  You can't help but smile when you look at the "Easter Quackers" set.  It really does remind me of the big 'ol mess that we make when we decorate Easter eggs at my house.  This year, my youngest is a bit older, and I can't wait to see how excited he is to dye eggs with us.  I'll have to at least make two dozen hard boiled eggs.... and hope that we eat them all!

Here is the two page layout that I made:

I hope that you enjoyed my contribution.  I'll be listing it on eBay tomorrow evening, so be sure to check out my eBay listings when you get a moment.

Friday's Design team challenge

Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Design Team

This week, the design team for Little Scraps of Heaven had the following challenge:

- Create a card with the color pink, and utilize scallops.

And here is my entry:

I truly love how versatile the peeking bear is that is in the Christmas Bears collection at Little Scraps of Heaven.

I used some SEI papers in this card from the Chocolat collection.
The sentiment stamp is from Lilli of the Valley.

Please come and join the Design team on this challenge.  You're entry can be placed HERE

Wondering what to do with those scraps?

Well, I have an idea ... make a bookmark!
What a great way to use up those little pieces and odds and ends.  If you are like me, ou hate to throw that stuff away, but soon your pile of 'extras' grows into a basket of items which then grows into a basket full of stuff that you dread going through because there is just so much there and you will probably spend as much time going through your 'stuff' as you will actually creating your masterpiece!

Ha!  Well, a little organizational tip ... when I finish a project, I try and keep all the extra 'stuff' together.  If I know there's not enough for a full blown layout or project, I throw it all (the matching stuff) into a ziplock bag .. you know, the big ones.  They work perfectly.   Then, when I need to throw a little something together, you can just grab a bag of the color scheme you want to work with and go.

And WALA .... you have my Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Design Team project for Wednesday!

For today, I've created a bookmark.
It's pretty simple to pull together.  Grab at least one patterned piece of cardstock, some solids, leftover ribbon, some bling (gotta have bling),  and a paper piecing or digi stamp.

I've chosen a digi stamp for my bookmark.  I was in the coloring mood, and can always use some practice shading.  I've chosen to use my Prisma colored pencils, odorless mineral spirits and blending stubs to color.

This is the end result:

The full view of the bookmark
And here is a close up of that colored image

The digi stamp that I used can be found HERE on the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs website.
The papers that I used are from a DCWV stack titled "The Whimsy Stack".

Stay tuned for another NEW project on Friday.

Spring Card to Welcome a new bundle of joy

Hello all,
I hope that Monday treated you well.  If not, it's almost over :)

As you know, Mondays are a day full of Little Scraps of Heaven's Design team inspirations.
Today, I decided to try a new technique for making a Spring Card.  I really loved this technique.  It was simple but has some SERIOUS impact!

If you are interested in trying this yourself, here is the link to the tutorial that I followed for this particular project HERE.

Now, for what you're really here for  ..... The card.

Similar looking to an easel card

For the paper piecings, I used the Be My Babies Collection from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.
The patterned paper was some old stuff in my stash, and everything else was utilized from scraps or leftover embellishments that I had laying around.  Isn't that the best thing about card making?  Being able to use all your scraps and leftovers? .... Well, that's certainly my favorite part!

Hickory Dickory Dock

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I just wanted to take a moment to share with you something that I've been working on for my MOMz eBay design group.  As a group we decided to challenge ourselves to create something fabulous using a Childhood story or Nursery Rhyme.   I volunteered for the "Hickory Dickory Dock" Nursery Rhyme and here is what I created.   This layout is so different from my average layouts.  I'd say it's a little less 'cutesy'.  I hope that you like it ... I love to hear your thoughts, comments and critiques too!
The mouse pattern is from the SEW and SEW set from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  Can you tell that I REALLY like this pattern!  It's so versatile.  I have one more project up my sleeve for these little babies.  Hopefully you'll see that next week, so keep checking back ... or better yet, sign up for my email updates and NEVER miss a post!

Also, check out my other team member's great postings for this challenge HERE!

Little Scraps of Heaven Design Team Wednesday Project

Hi all,
I hope that this week is treating you well.   I've been a bit under the weather lately, but struggling through.  It seems that the cold bug has bitten every one in my family.   Lots of vitamin C and water seem to be doing a pretty good job at fighting it.

Tonight all the Design Team's projects have been shared on the Little Scraps of Heaven Desgin Team blog.  I do hope that you will take a moment, stop by and follow the blog over there.  Not only will you get a glimpse of the fantastic the projects the team is sharing , you can enter challenges and be eligible for blog candy ... and who doesn't like that?

For my Wednesday project I decided to work with the "Sew and Sew" pattern set and make some tags.  Each tag measures approx. 4" x 6" and is a perfect addition to a scrapbook page, altered item, or card.
I'd love to hear what you think about them!

I decided to go with the color green since we will be celebrating St' Patrick's Day tomorrow.   Personally, I am not Irish, but my husband is, and therefore my sons are too :)  We will have our corned beef and cabbage and some Irish soda bread muffins.  I am sure my boys will love the muffins!  :)  Picky eaters that they are.

Below are pictures of the six tags that I made.  These have actually been submitted for the Little Scraps of Heaven Tag swap that just wrapped up.

Do you like swaps?  Keep your eyes open on the Little Scraps of Heaven FaceBook page to join in on one or make suggestions on what you would like to swap.

My first project as a LSHD Design team member

If you are here for the last day of Jennifer's Blog Hop ... Please feel free to jump ahead HERE, or simply scroll down to the next post.  Please feel free to read on and see another card that I created.  It's not a birthday card, but still is cute :)

___________________________________________

I'm so very excited to share with you my very first project as a Design Team member of Little Scraps of Heaven Designs!  I love, and have always love Tricia's patterns and am very happy to showcase her work.

For my Monday project I decided to do a card.  Cards really are not my forte ... rather, they are new to me.

At first I fooled myself into thinking cards would be faster, easier and less time consuming that my standard two page layouts.  WRONG!  They take me JUST as long ... are even MORE complex, and I can spend DAYS pondering over what to do with them.  So funny how our minds work, right?  Smaller item = easier. NOT!

BUT .. I am happy to say that I do like making the cards.  I WILL still do layouts (stay tuned later this weel for one of those) and I WILL also try other new and exciting things.

Now, on to the card.
I really wanted to use the new "MAMA MIA Pizzaria" set that was recently released, so I did.  I also wanted to try a new technique of making a POP Up card, so I did that too!
I wanted to do a pretty standard sentiment, so I made it more of an every day kinda card.  I hope that you like it.

Here is the front of the card

A full view of the card while opened

As always, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for stopping by and I hope that you will join me later this week for more of my projects and inspiration.

Please visit the Little Scraps of Heaven Design Team Blog for more projects.

Take care,
