Lego Card

Pinterest is totally inspiring!

There are so many talent crafters, bakers, chefs out there that I would never have stumbled upon if it had not been for pinterest.

I've already tried countless recipes, a handful of crafts, used some storage organizing ideas and LOADS of homemade cleaners for around the home!

I have to say I have loved almost each and every item that I've actually tried..... and have I mentioned that I have thousands of things to try on my to do list?  :)

Today my post is a project that I created that I stumbled upon from Pinterest.
It was last minute and I realized I wanted to make a card for a birthday party that my son's were invited too.   The little boy was turning 5 ... and hey, what better way to celebrate than to make him a fantastic card?

Well .. if you know me .. and have seen my layouts  .. you know that they can get a bit ... ahem .. detailed.  I just did not have the time for that today .. it had to be quick, it had to be cute, and it had to be easy.

A quick search on Pinterest brought me to HERE.  It's an image that someone posted on Splitcoaststampers.com.  I wish I could point you to the original artist's blog .. but unfortunately this link will have to do as I could not find any other way to credit the original person.

And HERE is the SUPER fast, SUPER cute, SUPER easy card that I threw together.  Start to finish was maybe 15-20 minutes ... not bad for me.

I hope that this inspires you to throw something handmade together for those you love ... even if it is last minute.

For this project I used the following:
1. Pinterest link!
4. Twine from Trendy Twine in Peppermint Stick

Happy Thanksgiving

As we are in the countdown to Thanksgiving I felt it appropriate to take a moment and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.

I truly and honestly love Thanksgiving.  It's a time to step back, enjoy our family and really take the time to be thankful for all that we have.  It's about nothing more .. nothing less.

I'm blessed with having family in town for the holiday and I'm looking forward to going all out .. Turkey, Ham, all the fixin's ... I am sure that there will be a ton of leftovers but I'll have fun making (and enjoying every morsel) it from scratch.

To prepare for the Holiday I've made this super cute layout that can be used to capture the wonderful memories that you are about to make.

To create this layout I've used the following items.
1. Paper piecing patterns from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs
- Autumn Blessings
- Indian Boy
- Indian Girl
2. Twine from Trendy Twine in Thanksgiving Truffle
4. Papers and Chipboard from The Farmhouse paper company
5. Solid cardstock from American Crafts
6. Clearsnap colorbox chalks

This layout is available for sale HERE if you have any interest in purchasing it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Little Scraps of Heaven Designs DT Halloween Blog Hop

Happy Halloween!!!

This year for Halloween we, the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs DT, decided to get together and have a Halloween Blog Hop.

We've been preparing for halloween for days here (weeks if you count decorating) and have been having a fun time doing it!

I've made pumpkin and halloween banners to hang in my home, halloween cards, cheesecloth ghosts and even some fun Halloween treats for the kiddos.

If you have been following the hop and have come from Dana's blog then you are in the right place. If you have just happened upon my blog please join us and head to Tricia's Blog to start hopping with us.

For the blog hop, I've decided to work with the "Ghouls Night Out" pattern collection as well as a few elements from the "Haunted Graveyard" pattern collection.

I've been dying to work with it and this seemed like the perfect excuse!

Here is the two page layout that I created:

Here is a close up of the left page:

and the right page:

Aren't these gals just the coolest?  I'm really trying to figure out how I can incorporate them .. you know .. mix them up in other ways ... for future projects ..
