Now on to my project for the third day.  This is another oldie (well, actually not that old) but goodie.  I used the pilgrims and indians thanksgiving files from LSHD.  Aren't they just adorable?

Now on to my project for the second day.  This is an oldie but goodie.  Well, in all honestly this is my favorite layout that I've EVER completed!   I used the Bumblee Bear Pattern from LSHD  for this.  I am torn on whether the colors I chose are what draws me in or the way that I used hexagons for mats rather than the standard square/rectangle.

The papers used were by Nikki Sivils.
I also used an acrylic stamp by Nikki Sivils too. 
Prima flowers were used.

So today is my big travel day.  Traveling with my two boys from Detroit, Michigan back to Seattle, Washington.  Words can not express how excited I am to get home and see my husband.  It has been nearly a month that we have been apart ... longest stretch in the history of "us".


My visit with family was priceless, but you know what they say "There's no place like home".

Now on to my project for today ... and of course I have a story behind this.


I have simply colored a LSHD digi stamp of the Angel Bear with Scissors with copic markers.


I have used the following copic colors:
Bear : E31, E57, E59
Dress: G82, G40
Cloud: B45, B91
Halo: Sakura Gelly Roll Pen, Golden Star
Scissors: 100, and American Crafts Metallic Marker in Silver
Highlights: Signo white pen


This is my first experience with Copics.  I've been dying to use them and I love how this turned out.


My crafting time has been limited the past three weeks but I have been dedicated to being a part of this blog hop.   
First, the good news.  The reason that I have been traveling is to await, greet, hug and kiss a new addition to our family ... his name is Samuel Michael and he is my sister's second son.  Upon hearing his due date it was evident to me that I HAD to be here for his birth!  So ... I decided to pack up my boys (Ages 1 and 4) and get on a plane and travel to Michigan (from Washington).  I had so many plans .... boy ... did I have so many plans.   First and foremost was spending time with my family.  Second was maybe getting a moment to myself (can I say Grandma's everywhere??), and third was accomplishing many tasks such as a few paper piecing projects, a minor blog redesign, set up of an etsy shop .... oh, and my list goes on and on.   Now .... what did I REALLY get accomplished?  Visits with family of course, a little bit of shopping .... little bit of sleep, lots of dealing with children who were struggling without their beds, their routines, their friends, their FATHER!  Oh, the drama that has gone on these past three weeks.  And it's not over yet.


One day, while driving around my one year old in the car (in the freezing cold snowy weather) I decided that I just had to get something done for the hop or I would just simply go crazy.   As I read blog feeds (in the car), flipped through magazines (in the car) and played on facebook (in the car) I decided that I would go with coloring a digi stamp of the LSHD angel bear with scissors .... of course, in the car.


SO, this is truly my first ever project that I have decided on, and completed on  ... in a car.
I can only hope that it is my last.


To complete the project I will most likely use my spellbinders dies to cut out the bear and place on a cute card.  Perhaps you will see that later in the week here .... stay tuned!




By the way, I actually colored 5 digi stamps to get to this one.  Practice makes perfect, right?

Impacted by the winter storm

Well, even though I live in the Pacific Northwest now, I have been impacted by the storm that is hitting the midwest today.

Today was the day that I planned on leaving for a vacation in Michigan.  I know what you're thinking ... vacation in Michigan ... in FEBRUARY?  Are you crazy?  Well, somewhat I guess.  Perhaps I'm just dedicated to family.   My little sister is due to have her second baby boy any day now, and I really want to be there for her.  This trip was/is a big deal for me.  Not only is it my first 'real' trip home since moving away a year ago, it has been 8 months since I've seen my father, 8 months since my kids have seen their Grandfather and a year since I have seen most family and friends.  This is a big trip for me.   A big, 3 week adventure with just me and my two boys.

WHAT?

Yep, that's right.  I'm braving the friendly skies with my two little guys.  A four year old, a one year old and a thirty-something year old traveling together and trying to stay calm, cool, and collective.  My nerves set in this past week.   I'm not so much worried about the four year old as the antsy one year old.  Finally I calmed myself, came to terms with what will be will be, and set in for a good nights sleep last night.

***RING*** ****RING***

4am .. the husband calls.  "We need to talk about your flight".  

I'm guessing a 4am call is not a good one.  I was right.  Flight cancelled!  uggh.   So much for preparing myself.  All packed, ready to go.  Just had to wait for the kids to wake up, eat breakfast and go.  Pretty simple.  Nope.  Not for me.  Not today anyway.

So, we'll try again on Thursday.  Pray that Mother Nature gets the nastiness out of her system by then.

Meanwhile, we will enjoy the sunshine and mild temperatures here in the Pacific Northwest.   

To my dear little nephew who's still in the womb baking .... please don't wait for your favorite Auntie ... give your Mom a break and come soon (Just after all the streets have been cleared of snow).
