CardSketch Challenge at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope that the weekend treated you well.
We received a few inches of snow here .. just outside of Seattle.... and even though I'm a Michigander and should be used to the snow, things are so different here.   Because it does not snow often, we spent the weekend in and out of the house playing with snow, having snowball fights and even making a snowman.  Almost seems unheard of here!   We'll be enjoying it once again today as the boys are off for MLK day.   What are you doing today?  Any crafting?  If you are .. I have an idea for you that will result in a fabulous card AND a chance to win some free files over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

This week we have a CARD Sketch Challenge going on.  I must say that I am L-O-V-I-N' these sketch challenges!  They are a great way to get me to focus on coloring and my piecings rather than placement on cards or layouts.

Here is the sketch for this week:

And HERE is the Design team blog that you can find out all the details

Now, I'm hoping you'd like to see what I created with this sketch ... do you?  Well .. here you have it.....

I really had a ton of fun with this.

I used two files from the LSHD collections.

I added some bakers twine for fun, some jute ribbon and I even made that cute flower with the ribbon and a brad!  The papers that you see are all from DCWV and are the Safari Chic stack.   LOVE IT!

Happy Monday all!
Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Little Scraps of Heaven Sketch Challenge - Week of January 9, 2012

Come on over and join me in the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Sketch Challenge.

The design team has some fabulous examples of what you can do with the sketch that is posted ...and we would LOVE to see what unique things you can do with it too!

Head on over to the Design team blog to get all the details on how to enter, examples and what you can win.

Here is the sketch for the week.

Cute, isn't it?

Well, here is what I did with this sketch.  I really enjoyed getting a personal layout completed with this.  It's a great way to get a kick start on a layout ...

This sweet picture is of my oldest one of his little 'girlfriends'.  They are so cute together and ever since this picture was taken I knew I just HAD to get it on paper.  If you look really close, at the base of the fountain you can see a rainbow.  My picture of the picture does not capture it that great, but it is really an amazing shot that my friend was able to capture with her camera ... a point and shoot no less!  So .. if you don't have a fancy camera, no worries, because with the right lighting you can capture the most amazing of moments too!

For this layout I used a few files from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs

I hope you've enjoyed my layout for the sketch, and I do hope you'll give it a try .. what do you have to lose?  A fabulous page for one of your albums?

New Year's challenge over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs

Happy New Year everyone!  I hope that everyone had a Holiday as amazing as mine and is refreshed, renewed and ready for the New Year!  BRING IT ON 2012!!!

I have a very exciting announcement to make.
I am now BACK on the Design Team for Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  WOO HOO!

I can't even begin to tell you how much I missed working with this fabulous group ... BUT .. Life just got too busy for awhile.

My first to-do as a DT member is the first challenge of the month.
If you haven't heard, they are shaking things up over at LSHD with challenges of all sorts .. cards, themes, sketches .. you name it!  It really is a fun way to try out some new things and get you a bit out of your element.  Also a great way to win some fantastic patterns too!

The first challenge of the year was to create a New Years Card.
I chose to use the newly released "New Years Bear" file that you can see below.  Just click on the picture to go directly to the site.

And .. Here is the card I created with the file.
To create the card, I welded two of the clock circles together to form the base of the card.  Cute, right?

Want details on how to get on on this challenge ... don't forget you have a chance at some FREE FANTASTIC patterns!   Click HERE for all the Details!

I was also inspired to make a layout with this file too .... Does THAT surprise you at ALL?  Nope, not me .. not one bit!

This has to be my favorite layout of the year!   HE HE.

I'm usually not a purple girl, but I really like how this pops on the page!
All the patterned and glitter papers I used were from Die Cuts with a view.  The Lemon Flower stack, and new Glitzy Glitter stack worked really well for this layout.  My solid papers are from American Crafts ... My FAVORITE textured paper to work with!

The layout is available now on ebay ... Just click HERE for more details!

For my project today, I decided to first see what characters or things from the 80's that Emily liked most. This is of course, her hop, and I wanted my project to directly relate to something that would make her smile. Well, Emily informed me that she LOVED Rainbow Brite as a little girl..... and who wouldn't??? A cute girly girl character with LOTS of color!

Happy Birthday Emily!

I hope that you enjoy this birthday card that I made especially for you.

For this card I pulled out my copics (I only have a handful of colors, but luckily I had what I felt was needed for little Miss Rainbow).  I found a cute Rainbow Brite coloring page which I sized down and printed on my curious metallic paper.  My Birthday Celebration Stack from DCWV really jumped out at me to coordinate with the coloring of the images.  Lastly, I accented with some red and white bakers twine to give the illusion of sunshine streaming down on her  .. cute, huh?

I'm so happy you stopped by today.  Don't forget to stop by everyones blog for their fantastic creations and many chances at different blog candy!

I'm offering a bit of candy myself.  Leave me a comment and follow my blog for a chance at winning a scrapbook kit which will contain solid and coordinating pattern pappers, ribbons, and embellishments.

If you'd like to stop by my FACEBOOK page, I'd love for you to join me there too ... however, this is not a requirement.

Now, head on over to Kathy's blog to see what she has in store for Emily today!

The 12 days of Christmas (Day 7) Guest Designer

Hi Everyone!
If you are here from the 12 Days of Christmas Blog hop for the Guest Designer entry ... well, you are in the RIGHT spot!

Thanks so much to Lisa over at Honeybearz Designs for hosting and for having me as a guest!
If this is the first you've heard of this hop, you had better head on over to Lisa's blog to check out today, and the last six days of hops.  She has gathered some absolutely amazing prizes for blog candy.  You certainly DO NOT want to miss out on that!

My project today is a set of cute little Elves that I've paper pieced together using patterns from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  I just love her Jolly Little Elves as they are so incredibly different than any others that I have seen out this year.

Merry Christmas to all!
